Hi guys

I've got a 2003 Freelander Td4. My keys were stolen on Friday night, and now I can't get in.

I've got a spare key, but the immobiliser was never initialised. Once I open the door with the spare key, the alarm will go off and I won't be able to start the car anyway.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to bypass the alarm/immobiliser once I've opened my car? The reason is that the nearest LR dealership is over 130km away from my house!

any help will be much appreciated!

Thanks!

have you tried opening it? not sure how u explain it, might just be me lol

are you saying the key transponder was never learned, if it is a valid key you should be able to open it then the transponder link will knock off security.

if this key does not work then you may have to get it recovered, you will also want dealer to invalidate the keys that were stolen so they cant be reused

you see, I'm not sure about the transponder thing. I know the key works, I've used it to start the car before, but never to open it when the alarm was on. and stupidly I left it in the car. So I'm going to have to break a window to get to it in any case.

You mean I can get the stolen keys invalidated? Cool, didn't know you could do that. At the moment the car is in a secure place, not where it's usually parked, so it's safe :)
