Can anybody please tell me the stall test RPM for a late 4.6 P38.
The reason I ask is that I am trying to diagnose a whine from the transmission. I have used an electronic stethoscope which points to the bell housing area.
A stall test gives me 2500 RPM in forward and reverse. The only data I can find said it should be 2000 RPM but this is for a early P38, they changed to a smaller torque converter in 1999.
