can anyone help pleeeese!

lately my freelander has developed a problem, whilst going up steepish hills the engine management light comes on, when at the top of the hill it goes off, it never comes on on the flat, looked through other posts and couldntfind anything, was wondering if it could be the turbo boost solenoid, can anyone point me in the right direction?

would i have to take it to the dealer to get the fault code read, or which is the cheapest route to take to replace either?

A dealer or independent who has good diagnostic equipment to read fault codes. It's likely to be a low fuel pressure or overboost code.

An independent is going to be the cheapest option labour wise.

Fuel pumps seem to fail from around 80k miles onwards.

Hi Ming, is there any way i can determine if either is faulty without getting fault codes read?

update: had diags. fault was boost problem, had the codes reset and all is fine now, fingers crossed it hasnt re appeared, keep you all posted
