I have removed the front drive shaft as the bearings were in very poor condition and need replacement. My question is can I still drive it without a front drive shaft or will it cause problems?

You can, but it will knacker the viscous coupling eventually. Keep your foot off the loud pedal.

You can for the short term if everything else is fine. Just take it easy as all the power will be directed to the rear and it will handle a little differently to what your used to.

I used mine minus front propshaft, but only to drive 60 miles or so at no more than 50mph to Lincoln. William Chetwynd fitted a replacement for a very acceptable price and, after ensuring it was freshly greased up, I was on way home in 4wd mode again within an hour or so. Give him a call if you're looking for a good replacement: 07903 167575. He offers next working day delivery if you order early enough.
