Hi
iam having the same type of problems. It stated nearly two weeks ago; I had trouble starting it for work on the monday morning it kept turning over but not starting after many be turning it over 10-15 times it started i went to work it came to home time and i had the same problem again, again after 10-15 tines it started on the way home the engine managment light came on. went i got home i rang the toyota garage (i bought it from them just over a year ago with 3 year warrenty) and they said to take it there stright away which i did. They took it to the landraover garge who put it on the engine dianostic machine, and they said it had the most faults they had ever seen! They cleared all the fault and said there was two oipions to try a new fuel filter if that didnt work a new fuel pump and it was showing low fuel pressure. Toyota then fitter the new fuel filter stright away and i got it back that night (tuesday), and they said to try that if i still had the same problem to ring them. the next day i had the same problems (but the ening management light didnt come on) and i rang them and they ordered the part and booked it in for a week later to see if the enigine managment light came on again. All wek i had the same promlems starting it but sometimes it would start then stall stright away then it would take another 10-15 times turning it to start, i took it back in on tuesday and they fitted the new fuel filter and i got it back the same night. On wednesday morning i was having the same problems so i rung toyota again, they are as anoyed as e as they have now spent over £350 on the filter and pump and the promlem is still not solved. they have rung landrover on wednesday and today and they are still waiting for them to suggest what it may be. if anyone else could suggest some thing it would be greatly recieved. My freelander is a 2001 TD4 and has 30k on the clock. (sorry for the essay i thought it was best to explain everything thats happerned)

thanks vanessa

Just got it back after really struggling to start it on friday then when it started the engine management light came on. Any way seems ok now, the garage said it was the in tank fuel pump.
So after two fiel pums and a fuel filter its fixed!!! Lucky it was still in warrenty.
