Hi can any one tell me why my 200 tdi 92 Disco won't go in to reverse.
The clutch is only 4 months old and all other gears work fine. please help don't want to get ripped off at a garage ta.

does lever push across fully ,does lever go forward fully ,reverse is a sliding idler gear ,pivot lever can come away from gear

hope this makes sense. going between 2nd and 1st there's no indication that there is a slot for a gear, but it didn't just go all of a suden its gone worse over the last week.

not sure what you mean i thought it was only reverse,might be worth removing consol and tin cover on gear box top plunger can jam stopping lever going across for rev

sorry it is only reverse gear and that sounds like the answer thanks. will try it in the morming.

remove centre console remove gaiter then open top of box where rhe gearstick goes in . check the forks all have there grub screws in place and tight !! seen a few fall out !!
