Hi all, I have had an issue with my battery not charging, found out there was a small brown lead loose near the alternator, I connected it back to the only place i could see if someone could just verify I have put it in the correct place I'd be really grateful (1st pic), also the capacitor (2nd pic) was disconnected (or i knocked it out when putting the lead back on)
It seemed to fit into the metal housing of the alternator snugly in a hole that seemed the exact size, cant get a good pic of the hole as it is up above the main + wire in my oily engine bay (recon turbo on the list!)

I've left the negative off the battery in case I've done something daft!

Thanks in advance :)

The capacitor connected directly to the back of the alternator and bolted onto the original screw thread

Thanks, you prompted me to look online for a pic (the haynes manual isnt clear at all) , took me a while to find a match.

The capacitor was in the wrong hole :confused2: the smallest of the three Stadium shapes (didn't know it was called that, more rounded rectangles!)

I had to bend the blade out as it was pushed to one side (from the feel of it)
So all connected :D
