my brain is working... ... can a 200tdi auxilery pulley and belt system be switched from the single v belt to the 300tdi multi v belt and pulleys?
I ask as I am thinking of switching my alternator to a high output one and I'm thinking the resistance caused by the extra grunt of the alternator might well make the single v slip and so making the high power alternator a pointless investment. I break cars for work and have found that a reno scenic has a 120a alternator but it runs a multi v pulley with a clutch in it. it will mount in place on my 200 properly but i will have to change the pulley. i have looked into these clutch pulleys and they seem to be a good idea that could be of benifit to me when needing the extra grunt from the alt from winching etc. so I am thinking is it possible to change the 200tdi single v aux belt system to a multi v 300tdi system so i can make use of this bigger alt and clutch pulley?
