This has probably been answered before but I'm struggling to find a previous post for the question I would like to ask. I have a D2, 2001, which was converted to springs before I bought it. These are giving a standard ride height and I would like to get 2 inches more lift without doing any big modifications. Does anyone know if it is possible to fit a 2 inch lift kit (blocks I assume?) Which will not necessitate my changing the shock absorbers, brake pipes or any suspension/steering linkages? Any suggested makes would also be very welcome

Thanks!

The answer is sort of....

Yes you can do a very simple lift. But the question to ask is why? What do you intend to use the vehicle for? Poor lifts generally reduce on road performance and also reduce off road capability causing the vehicle to be more prone to becoming cross axled and waving wheels in the air.

What is a big modification?

Putting in +2" shocks and coils, and longer brake lines, adjusting the panhard, not a big mod in my opinion.

Lift blocks? Why?

Are you going to change the wheel and tyre combo? If not can't see any positive reason for doing it, and changing the running circumference will upset the auto-box if it is auto.
On My Disco 1 I put heavy duty springs on the rear and the original rears to the front. This accidentally gave me a 2" lift!
No need to change anything else whatsoever although I had already put GAZ shocks on to limit roll as much as anything else.
So if you do similar you may get a similar result.
