Hi all , any idea if the 2 door and 4 door classic chassis are the same? For example , could i put a 2 door suffix b on a 1980 4 door chassis , both chassis appear to be 100 inch wheelbase, thanks Bern

What country are you in?

In theory I'd say yes, a 2 door should fit a 4 door chassis. However there may be some differences, I've never checked. Certainly the RR evolved a little over the years, so you might need to tweak a few items. I'd also guess engine and transmission might play a part on what would need to be done.

In the UK, you'd need to retain the registration and identity of the 4 door.

i am in the uk,,ok cheers for that,, ive got a decent suffix b ,body , but the chassis is completely gone,

The rear A frame section is differnt & unsure if 2 door body impedes this .
Early is boxed,later is tubed.

Unsure of center floor pan(gearbox tunnel)

Have a search through the RR section as there are build on there & may be able to measure stuff etc

It might be a silly suggestion if out of your budget, and the 4 door chassis is in good fettle, but if you have a really good suffix b body have you thought about a brand new galvanised chassis, you can paint it to look original, and know that it will out last you too, so peace of mind! Maer do one that I've been looking at to start my 2 door rebuild with. You then just cut out your old chassis number from the leg of your old chassis and keep it with the invoice of your new one in a nice shiny folder for future reference! That's what I've done with my 90! 😊
