just got myself a 2.5 n/a doozil to replace my 2.5 petrol lump in the Dibnah. Fing is the doozil is ex a 90 and comes with an lt77 box. looking at the threads on here - it seems to be a definate no-no to fit the lt77 box.

Has anyone done it? i gather prop shafts are diff lengths?

wud i be better orf to just flog the box and put the funds into the Dibnah piggy bank?

main problem with the lt77 is that it wud turn the dibnah into a permanent 4wd, the uj's in your front axle will not be able to stand that (ok for use off road as per your series box/transfer now) use all the time as the 90/disco/rr have cv joints within the spheres. so sell box and use series box

ffs daft, are you insane "i already got a gearbox" the man is offering you a 2a box ffs, the daddy of all boxes, the strongest of em all. i hope yer new engine fiucks yer gearbox and yer cany get one just for your absolute dumbness

Thank yu Yella fur your usual "to the point" comments and assistance.

aint the 2a not got synchro on 1st and second?

bluddy Yella - why duz yu always complicate things!
i find that yella tells it as it is, you wud be thick to not get the S2a box as it is the strongest box ever built by Land Rover so yeh it does not have synchro on 1st or 2nd but that is what double de clutching is for and once mastered you will not crunch the gears as you will learn mechanical sympathy and will also get a warm glowy feeling inside every time you engage gear correctly.
