I got a 2nd hand 2.5 NAD which I don't know the history of except it's ex-military.
It's had a broken belt replaced and put back together without doing the timing, so it still had 5 bent pushrods and wouldn't start!?!?!
When I took the head off I found little bits knocked off 2 of the tappet sliders - would this be a problem? Or do bits fall down into the sump out of the way?
Also, looking at the 5 head bolt holes down the centre, through the rocker shaft pedestals, the centre one had water in it, and 2 and 4 had oil in them. I thought maybe the gasket might have blown but it looks OK. Has anyone had this - is there a serious fault in the block somewhere? Or is the leakage just because I took out those 5 to do the pushrods before I finally removed the head?
