Hey chaps, got a bit of a problem with my series 3. It keeps on overheating, I took the thermostat out and the problem still persists. I had the head off today and all was fine with it, so I think I might be looking at a new radiator and hoses or possibly a water pump. Anyone else had a similar problem, I would quite like a second opinion.
Cheers!!!

Yeah, the heater works fine there seems to be a lot of crud in the rad I will back flush it and see if it makes any difference. Thanks...

What does back flushing mean. Is it the same as 'flushing'?

Reason i ask is because mine runs alittle hot sometimes but only if its not getting any air flow, but the rad water is dark brown!

ah use the term 'back' so you'll know to flush in the opposite direction to normal flow. which goes into the top of yer rad and oot the bottom.
if you back flush it you have more chance of getting the crud out of it and if yer coolant?????????????????? is dark brown it sounds like to need to do it now. and fill up wiff some nice flouresant green stuff
