just in process of picking up a series 3 minus engine so im looking out for a 2.25,whats the cost i should be looking for ideally to buy 1 please?
i was going to go the v8 route but ive put sensible head on for now.
Honestly mate - save your money and get anything other than a standard diesel engine. 200tdi would be the best bet. Readily available and will last forever.
If you don't/can't go down the route of a major mods to fit the TDi, the 2.5 diesel is well suited to a series, and are usually cheap to buy. They are very similar to the original engine, just a bit more powerful.
If a series 2.25 has started to chuck oil out of the rocker breathers and oil filler is that due to the rings been worn?or maybe just blockages in the crank breathers?
