My mate has got a series 3 2.2 petrol. could you tell me the best engine oil to go for please?

Ive tried the search option but cant find anything...

thanks in advance :)

Get a good 20w50 if you can, failing that 15w40. Mineral oil, no need for synthetic stuff in a 2¼.

Something like this:
Amazon product

Note the Specification of the oil, some cheap oil has none of these and is only good for flushing or oiling hinges.

Millers and Halfrauds do their own 'Classic' 20w50 as well.

If you have the space buying in bulk 20/25 litre containers is much cheaper than buying the 5lt cans . My last order for 20 lt of 20/50 delivered was £40

20w50 - The Halfords Classic stuff is Green and smells great :D
As there’s no doubt that an old engine will be burning its oil, so that’s good the the oil should smell “great”, but Castro’s R would be better, even better would no smell at all.:)

Hmm it's always nice to have a smell ;)
