I'm not sure if this has been commented on before but this is a detailed video of a mechanic changing a clutch on a 1999 L series.


It should be a big help to anyone thinking of doing the same, even on a TD4 as much of the job is the same.

No "look at me I'm a great mechanic" - he doesn't need to, you can tell he is :)

Not sure I'd balance the IRD on my knee though :eek:

I recon god invented trolly jacks for balancing and lowering heavy stuff, not me joints :D

He probably invented blokes like him for working on me Freelander to... but where's the fun in that :cool:
 
I've often thought about doing instructional videos like that, for various Freelander jobs. However I never have the time to do them, as doing a video quadruples (is that a word?) the time it takes to do the job.

I nearly did a video on replacing a front caliper in 15 minutes recently, but alas the wind was too strong, and I didn't fancy over-dubbing it later.
