Hi people

I was driving my defender 90 to a wedding today, when on the way, my 19J turbo diesel started to stutter and cut out. So i pulled over and she then seemed ok , so i carried on and for a few yards and she just died. Tryed to restart her and she just kept on cranking over and wouldnt start again. So i thought its fuel, so i cracked of the Injector pipes, cranked her over, nothing . So, undid the bleed screw on the Fuel Pump, again cranked it over, diesel started to **** out, so ok there :). So i then took of 1 of the fuel rail pipe nuts cuming out of the Fuel pump, cranked her over, and there was fuel cuming out of the Fuel Pumps there, so did the pipe back up, tryed to start her and away she went , no stuttering, nothing, sounded normal. Drove her home, she was back to normal. I can not understand this at all. A few days before she did cut out when driving for a second or 2 (loose power, but would come back on) She has been fine up to now. We did put some Injector cleaner into the fuel tank, would that cause it?

Please can you suggest what it could be

King regards
Chris

i had similar problem few months back
it was **** in the fuel tank and occasionally a bit would block the fuel pipe if was at 1/4 tank or lower and at right angle also have guaze filter on mi fuel pick up pipe and it was covered in crap took me about a month to find it

Either that or a loose and dirty fuel stop solenoid wire ( prob moved it when you where cracking the pipes off the pump ) .

Yeah thats what i thought. There my be some **** in the pipe, well enough to block the pipe but i havent touched the fuel systerm and she has been fine, went to santer pod and back fine with no problems. So fingers crossed she is ok :) :) :) :)

Cheers people
