I'v seen threads relating to cambelt changes on 200 and 300 Tdi engines but not 19j, is the procedure much the same? if not does anyone know how to do it?

Yes it is much the same - get a new belt, and a new tensioner and away you go.

You will need a READ OFF torque wrench, you will need a 1 5/8 (or 42mm would do) socket for the crank pulley - you will probably need a puller for the crank pulley ( < £20
from screwfix for a 3 leg puller).

what he said above matey, just done mine not a bad job to do only had one snag that the lock hole on the fly wheel didnt line up when timing was set so had to lock it through the starter motor hole with a piece of angle steel.

instead of this there is a timing gear conversion kit by zeus engineering, it replaces the need for a belt, and as such has no need for replacement, an initial charge then worry free timing, i know this may not help you right now, but somethin worth thinking about! i would post a link, but do not have one sorry, i have one on mine and i have never had an issue with timing, a simple google search should show the way.

DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THINKING ABOUT - terrible kit.
