Hi,
I wondering if anyone can provide advice on the following problems with a 1999 XEDI L series diesel engine.
A few weeks ago, my freelander started to loose power while driving. The engine would start missing only for a second or so and then return to normal. This would continue until I stopper driving. It seemed to be worse the hotter the day (not so bad in early mornings). At first it was a very random event, not it is occurring about every 2 minutes.
I think it must be fuel related, so have replaced the fuel filter and drained the fuel tank (in case of bad fuel). I have checked all fuel hoses including those onto the injectors and all seem ok. The car starts fine.
On one of the last times the engines lost power, the engine light flashed on for a moment, I haven't seen it since.
Can anyone advise of anything else to check. Could this be an injector problem? Or could it be a sensor that has failed? The car has done 190,000 kms.
Any help would be appreciated.
