The other day I was driving and the battery meter went all the way in
the red to 19. This morning I could not start the jeep. I replaced
the battery and still cannot start it. It sounds like it is trying to
start but the engine never turns on. Another weird thing is that I
hear a buzzing sound when I have the ignition in the on position.

Any Ideas what may be wrong?
Thanks

The voltage regulator is now part of the main PCM or computer instead of
in the alternator.

The buzzing noise is typical of a relay that is bad or shorted out.

The alternator pinning out the voltage gauge can mean a short circuit
someplace or even a short in the alternator.

I think I would go looking for the source of the buzzing first and
address that, then maybe try starting it with the alternator unplugged
to see if it's a shorted alternator.

Your starter clutch went out! you need a new starter. Or you broke some teeth of of the flywheel and the starter is in the dead spot.
