Hi folks!
Just a month ago i bought myself a pre-facelift Disco 1 in a pretty nice condition (For a 1993 Disco 1 atleast) 1 owner, original and only 70k miles.

I bought it unseen because it was more than 600 miles from where i live so i had it shipped home to me.
The previous owner said that it only fired on one bank and that it was probably a grounding-problem. Other than that everything else was fine and it was nothing else worth mentioning.... LIES!

When i started to troubleshoot i found two burned pins at the ECU connection and under the steering-wheel thats where i found the real headache....

Anyone got any idea what this is and WHY you would do something like this? It seems that its connected to the ignition somehow with a relay. There was no fuse in the fuse-holder. Makes me suspect the cars been stolen or someting.
You can start the car and everything but it only runs on one bank. Havent tried to disconnect this crap yet, wanted to talk to you guys first.

Thanks!

I am no expert but am wondering if this might not be to get around the immobiliser?
Do the doors all lock and open remotely and can you start the car without de-immobilising it?
As I said, I am no expert!!;)

I have a remote-control that i suspect is for the alarm and the light on the fob flashes when you press the button but nothing more happens. Also when you try to lock or unlock the car with key its only the drivers door that locks etc, dont even know if this model has central locking but i think it should.

Dug a little further today and think i found the "no ground for the right bank-problem".................

Anyone know how come the insulation for the ground-cables to the ECU is burnt off?

Also dont know if you guys can see it but the pins on the circuit board (14 and 40 ground) is burnt off.................
