as per the title really, im struggling to justify keeping the old girl as its not in running condition, and i think the ABS issues are beyond my ability to sort out.
thing is, i love these cars and really dont want to send it off to the jaws of the crusher even if it is worth a few of hundred as scrap at the moment.
also i dont have the necessaries to part it out.
so i was thinking of either:

a. sell the old girl as she is to someone who will fix her up and put her back on the road, or will take the good bits so that they can live on in another car

b. take it to a garage and get them to just pull all the ABS crap out of it and just run it with 'normal' non ABS brakes. though im not sure this is doable and/or legal?

what do you think?

stuart form armson ae will come to you and fix your abs no probs, he knows what he is doing and he isnt too pricey.

He is busy but google him and you will see his site and send him an email, say your from here and John sent you.

i really do want to get it fixed and running again, but due to both my part time jobs being occasional at best these days (im a student most of the time) i simply do not have the money to do anything at all with it (even if the ptice is very good, it'll still be 3 figures im guessing..), and that doesnt look like its going to change until the summer when i can start working full time again =/

have a look on his site at the prices , if he can sort it within an hour then it prob wil be about 100 quid. he has done mine twice when no other garage could and it only took him 30 mins both those times lol

I'm quite happy to stand corrected on this, but if ABS is part of the vehicle's original manuf. spec it must work (inc. the light) & will form part of the MOT test.
