Hi Folks:
Just a tech question, really. I just read that the oxygen sensor in
this jeep is titania, as opposed to zirconia, and therefore doesn't
generate voltage. I've read the computer puts 5V through a fixxed
resistor in series with this sensor. I think it's saying the computer
is looking for 2.5v as a good voltage. Also, it mentions it going from
0 to 2.5v. Mine seems to pulse at about a 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off
rate. It's not at 2.5V on though, but more like a half volt (like a
zirconia?) My Jeep seems to run smooth, but maybe running a bit rich,
and I think ignition retarded. Might this be a temperature sensor
going bad? Temp gauge reads normal. No indicator lights, but I think
this computer might be rather 'old-school'. It was doing this thing of
stalling when it was warm-started, which would fix itself after
restarting, but that went away when I had some battery problems and
lost good contact with the terminals. (computer reset itself?)
Is this computer behaving? Are these voltages normal?
Thanks!
Harry

If it hasn't been done the O2 sensor on that Renix system is under
recall. We had our 88's replaced free a couple years back.
