I have a 1989 full-size Ford Bronco (F-150) with a 4.9 liter in-line
six, manual transmission (4wd) with A/C. I have owned it for about six
years, and a few months ago it began to have very poor power in the
lower RPMs. It feels like the engine is missing and trying to die, and
the Ford dealership could not figure out what is wrong with it. They
replaced my starter, and I had another shop do a tune-up, but it still
has the problem. I replaced the ignition module, but that did not solve
it either.

I was wondering if there might be something wrong with the engine
computer. I thought about just replacing it, since that is within my
abilities and is cheaper than taking it to the shop again, but I cannot
find the correct one online. There seem to be 20 or so different ones
for my truck, and none of them have a part number that is specific to
the markings on mine:

E8TF2C018-AA A
0469173CIV
Mexico

If you know the answer to this problem, please email me directly.
Thanks for your help.

It is possible you have either weak injectors or low fuel pressure..... if
that tests out good then you probably have a flat cam.
