So I've finally started doing some bits to the old girl, I've been going over it and seeing what it needs and the list is very long. I have ordered some parts to keep me busy over the next weekends, but so far have ordered the bulkhead panels from YRM metals and some other bits.

Will keep updating as I go along :)

So today was a bit of a fight getting the cage off and doing the prop UJ's as I ended up cracking my vice on its first use so now going to get a 2nd had record vice.
But now all ready for the welding to be done in a couple of weeks time.
Did also get all the locks changed over as the old ones were useless.

An old British vice will be far more suitable as you say :) I have a Record 84 that takes a beating and doesn't bat an eye :D

So this week I had of work to get a few bits done, The upper bulkhead corners have been done and the drivers footwell, I'm not that happy with the outcome but as a first try I can say if there is a next time I know I'd do it with the bulkhead completely removed from the vehicle.
Next job was to strip the turbo as the fins were damaged and had a alot of play in all directions. I had a look at the wiring and that is just a mess so I'm going to remove it all and start again once a used competition dash arrives I have ordered.
I've checked the rear wheel bearings and they are not filled with grease but rust instead,

I love these project threads, every time I see one, I think, I want to do this, and then I remember I was the one that 'hung' a toilet roll holder thinking 'it's so small, I won't need a spirit level' and now I have to claim it was a design decision to everyone that happens to use that room...

So a few more bits arrived today the brakes which I forgot to take a picture of and the intercooler which is bigger than the alisport one that was fitted but at a fraction of the cost haha be interesting to see how it performs

and the used custom competition truck dash because its the only one I could find

More updates to come in the following days once the turbo CHRA arrives and the weekend when I'll be fitting some of the bits :)

the new CHRA arrived today so rebuilt it tonight, bit annoyed some dust landed on the vanes but I'll blow that out before fitting.

Lordy, that LR has more mud & crud than a freshly ploughed 10 acre field  Good luck with the project...and Corteco, Mintex & YRM components in one box is a very good sign ;)

How did it fit up ok?
If I get time to modify the fan and intercooler frame on monday I'll upload pictures as its quite big haha
