Just out of curiosity really…

Was helping a mate over the weekend replacing the boot floor on his disco and one of his neighbours came over for a chat..

cuting a long story short he has a 1970 Series Iia, and asked if I would like to buy it or knew anyone that would like to have it has a project as he doesn’t have time for it anymore..

it has a brand new galvanised chassi, hard top and soft top, some extra bits and bobs and also an original winch..
He told me the name, but can't remember, but he sounded very excited about that, so I assume it's a rare part?
I think the landrover is not in bits across a garden, but he did mention it has some rust bits like the bulkhead and some other bits...

Anyway.. he said he wanted £1500 for it.. but to be honest I don't even know if it's a fair price or not….
Wonder if someone could help on how much a fair price would be?
So I can go back to him with that?

or even if anyone here would be interested I could try and get more info about it…
cheers

£1500 for a motor with no MoT, what world is he living in?
No MoT £500 max, none runner, a lot less.
If he tries to say how much the bits cost individual, then tell him to sell them indivisually, then he can dispose of he junk.
Unless you want a galvanised chassis of course.....

It would cost you around £1000 for a new galvanised chassi.
And around £300 to £600 for a pto winch.
so i would say if its halfway to getting a MOT its worth it.

yer i agree £1000 for galvi chassis
£400 for a pto wich is working and all there.
im guessing the part he was on about a fairy overydrive wich will cost another £350-450 if its all there and ok, thats individully bulkhead if you can weld and bend 2-4mm sheet . £25-50 for materials if not £100 quid for a good secondhand one
