It is with a heavy heart it looks like I am going to have to sell my series 2. It failed its MOT again today on a number of fairly minor points but I need a vehicle on the road and preferably something that can seat me and my 3 kids now my wife has gone back to work. It will be replaced with something with a green oval!

I stripped it back to the chassis and had all the issues repaired, except for one tiny hole at the front that the MOT tester found. I fitted it with a 200di from a disco and the change has been made on the v5 including the engine number. I rewired it, rebushed the springs and rebuilt the front springs, I was intending the replace the rear springs so didn't strip them. It Have just fitted new shoes and cyclinders front and rear and it has TLS front setup from a lwb and a lwb master cyclinder and servo.

It is brush painted yellow which is chipping off slightly in places showing the blue underneath but there is a tin of yellow with it.

I also fully rewired it and fitted a defender temp guage which although it works would benefit from a defender temp sender as it tends to overread.

It runs and drives although it occasionally pops and farts which is what it decided to do today for the MOT meaning it didnt pass the smoke test!

The other issues that were picked up were a bit of wiring tidy up and a couple of the brakes were binding as they only had the chance to bed in driving from my house to the test centre, about 2 miles away. It also has a leak from the rear main seal as I must have caught it after refitting the flywheel housing after modifying it for the 200di

I have put my heart and soul into this Land Rover and it will break my heart to sell it but I cant afford and more weekends or leave periods working on it, my family is beginning to suffer and forget who I am!

I would like £2000 for it but I realise this may be a bit rich so I am open to offers. I am in Emsworth in Hampshire.
