Much apologies for any unclearness ....
The pajero autobox is well matched to the standard 15" wheels on the particular model of pajero I have. It comes with 4.88:1 diffs, so by fitting the engine/box to a Series with 4.7:1 Landy axles and diffs I am already increasing the final drive ratio slightly. From what I understand, autobox shift patterns are quite sensitive to changes in final drive ratios.
So the dilemma ... do I fit 15" wellers, which I already have with tyres, which have a rolling tyre circumference very similar to the pajero standard fitment for my autobox ...
OR - do I potentially change my final drive ratio even more by fitting 16" wheels, which I don't have, with more tyres, which I also don't have?
Hence the question. But I didn't know if the 15" wheels would fit over Rangey discs. But apparently they do ... so I'm happy.
The 15" wellers are currently on a Series, and to be honest I think you'd be hard pushed to spot the difference between them and 16" ones, they look pretty good. They'll certainly do me fine .... and it means I ain't got to go shopping.
Has anyone out there done anything with a pajero/shogun drivetrain before?
