afternoon all,

currently pulling the engine and loom out my donor discovery v8 for my 90 project.

found a few videos online about how to feed the loom the power and signals it need but the looms on all the videos look different to mine to start the colours of the wire are different and the plugs are also different. looking at the date code on the ECU in the video his looks to be 1992 and mine 1996.

i have two plugs that i don't know if i need to trace them out and remove from the disco or if i can make my own minimal loom? i have a large flat brown plug with 7 or 8 wires going to it, i think one of these will be constant 12v and the other the feed to the fuel pump, and then a white/clear plug a little bigger with about 18 wires. any advice other than put megassquirt on will be much appreciated haha!

Put up a PIC may help, but it should be self explanatory. Feed everything efi back to the ecu. So you'll have coil signal, AFM, tps, injectors, fuel and coolant temp up front, fuel pump at back feeding through inertia switch, lambda sensors (doubt you'll be using them but tune resistor will need changing to non cat) and road speed sensor. Air con will also send a signal back to prevent stalling (good for winch usage). Lives and earths should be all that's left unless I've missed something
