Good evening, I have just purchased a Defender 90 registered 2005 with 26k miles on the clock. I have run a car guide check and the MOT history starts from 2018. There is no history between 2005 and 2018. Should I be worried any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

Welcome:).

How long ago did you buy?
Check all the Chassis numbers and engine numbers match the logbook, If they don’t go straight back to the seller and get your money back.

Got any pics? (For a reason);)

As said above, any chance it was a military vehicle?

What engine has it got?

Cheers

Hi I’m collecting the car on Tuesday. The current owner purchased the wagon 3 months ago due to it’s low mileage.

might be it has been out of the country lots here still on UK plates and then gone back to the UK,
You can get a French CT (mot) on a car with UK plates

So why is the current seller moving it on so fast?

Seems a lot of advisories on the MOT history.

I think it would be in order to question the old owner, a low mileage and missing MOT history I would want to know a bit more, it said yes plate change, is it on PP's? might be a mess up when plates where changed?

I’ve attached the personalised number plate

Is your 2005 just a typo? It's a 2002.

Looking at the MOT history, the tyres are all cracked and perishing. Which would be consistent with them being the original 19 year old tyres on low mileage. You might want to budget for 5 new tyres. It might have been used from new on an airport or had some other non-road function.

I was wondering if it was a grey import, until I saw registered in 2002.

Hi and welcome!

Make sure you check all numbers match and that it hasn’t got another landy’s identification. Have you done an Hpi check? Are the previous MoT’s recorded under the private registration number?

Was it a private or trade sale?
