My dashboard 12v socket has ceased working after an encounter with my satnav cable. I'm trying to access it but can't get the centre console off - any idea's? Keeps blowing the fuse too & having trouble getting a workshop manual.
All help appreciated.

giz a clue what model is it????
guessing rangie, you would get a better responce posting in the correct section or ask a moderator nicely and he MAY move it

New to the site - don't know how to ask anyone anything yet!!!

Its a 2001 Disco 2 TD5.

click on the I in the red triangle in the top right hand corner of the post; this allows you to alert the mods (distract them from their chippies )

take of yer gear levers, by prising off the gaters at the bottom and then unscrewing the knobs. remove the rubber mat.
gently Prise off the panel for the power windows, then undo the screws.Disconnect the switches for the power windows.
Unclip the gaiter for the hand brake
take off the clip that holds the pin for the hand brake cable, disconnect the handbrake cable. and lift the handbrake lever to a vertical position.
undo the screws at the front by the stubby gear lever, undo the screws inside the elbow cubby box.

Lift out the whole center console....carefull of the wiring for the ciggy plug...

an easy 5 mins to get it out...
