Can't see anywhere else to post.. And figured you guys might know.

Travelling to Spain again this month. Last time I took some frozen stuff in a coolbox packed with ice etc but it still defrosted and was warm in places by the time I arrived (about 26 hours driving). This time, I'd like something a bit more effective.

Any recommendations for a 12v plug in cooler/fridge? Don't wanna be spending hundreds though as it'll only be used once/twice a year.

Cool boxes, 12v 3-4amps, are just that, they keep things cooler than the ambient temperature. Even if you pack a couple of ice blocks, things will still start to thaw within 6-12 hours.

IMO an electric cool box would be worse than a normal one as the cooling element will still be warmer than the frozen food so is essentially a heater.

Sounds like you need an electric freezer not fridge/coolbox.

Look for a cheap 3 way caravan fridge, switch it on well before your leaving so its cold inside.
I have a top loader fridge which I leave on for a week before going anywhere as it starts to ice
up on the metal cooling plate. Cant remember the brand its in my trailer.

Think I'm just gonna use a normal cool box stuffed with ice packs and a fleece liner.
