Hi all,
Im new to the world of the landrover and have a couple of weeks ago purchased a 1988 110 Station Wagon 200 tdi. Today I jumped in it to pop out and noticed that while driving along that the handbrake warning light was illuminated. I stopped at the shops and when i got back in, it wouldnt start. With the ignition on only the battery warning light and oil pressure lights were illuminated. Then turn the key to crank position and just got a click from a relay or starter motor and the handbrake warning light illuminated but went out again when released from crank position. I thought possibly a loose battery or starter motor terminal (all seem to be ok). I have tried the jump lead from battery earth to engine trick as i thought could be a bad earth (still the same).
Does anybody have any ideas, im not sure if the handbrake warning light thing is anything to do with it or could be shorting throgh the switch. The battery looks to be fairly new and all the other electrics are behaving ok. Im sure (and hope) its going to be something silly but dont know where to start looking.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as was planning to first green laning this weekend. Cheers John.
