Try and post a pic, if it has a turbo it is probably a 19j or a 200Tdi, AFAIK 2 I/4 diesel, as would have been fitted to a very early 110, never had turbo.

Either 2.5 litre engine would have a stop solenoid, I don't think 2 1/4 ever did.

Fuel filter, air filter and quality of fuel might be worth a look if solenoid doesn't deal. Tappets too,

Certainty 100%! :D

It doesn't look very well maintained, watch out if it does start, you may not be able to turn it off! :D

Fuel? Is it years old? Doubt it will start on that, is so, drain it and refill with clean, change filters etc. Check for fuel at fuel pipe unions when you turn engine over on starter. You will need a good battery, we often tow with a tractor if stuff hasn't been started for years.

Check air filter and hoses for collapse, check tappets. If you have fuel, air and spins over well it pretty much has to start.

Maybe read up about them first, forum search is your friend.

sory last question are the glow plugs on an auto switch when yuo turn the key before you start the engine like on the later ones or it there a switch like on my lightweight

Turn the key up against the spring, the orange light should come on, count to twenty, then turn the key a little bit more to spin over.
Do not touch the throttle pedal at all during start up.
