Have a problem with my 1.8 petrol freelander,[ there are no fault codes ] i have read loads of posts on here looking for the same type of fault, but they don't seem to have the same criteria as mine, ok here goes, she starts up first time every time, ticks over great, pulls away great, and if you use the throttle sparingly there is no problem, but, if you try and use any power ie going up a hill and you put your foot on the gas, it seems to miss, not one cylinder but all seem to be struggling, it still accelerates but slowly, it can happen in any gear, but is more noticeable in higher gears, going from the posts i have read, it points to the fuel pump or filter, as mine doesn't have a dizzy cap or leads, anyone have any ideas what else it could be

So what did you find from checking the fuel pump and/or filter?

May be worth looking at the fuel pressure regulator (if fitted). This should lift the fuel pressure during high manifold pressure - which happens when you put your foot down.

haven't checked anything yet, just getting a list of what might be causing the problem and will look at one job at a time, easiest first he he he but i have read something about the regulator, will look back into that, think it has something to do with a paper clip and two terminals, cheers Tony
