Having issues with a Freelander I bought for the wife. Not given her the car yet, as the ECU is playing up.

Have got a spare ECU, but is it possible to disable the immobiliser? I am aware it is coded to each car, and a 2nd hand ECU wont work, as the security codes dont match.

Either that, or does anyone know a company I could send the ECU to, to have the security disabled?

Are you having immobiliser problems or do you just want to disable the immobiliser so you can fit a replacement ECU?

Disable the immobiliser to replace the ECU. The current ECU has died, and has no communication with any diagnostic tools.

I have a spare ECU in the shed, from another MEMS3 Freelander, but it will not work due to different security codes :(
