Hi there
I have a 06 plate freelander 1 td4 1.9 diesel which is loosing all power especially when setting off. If I pull out of a junction it often comes to a complete stand still and crawls then the car will black smoke and regain power. When driving along it sometimes judders looses power then will black smoke and regain power. Even when driving normally it seems to lack power though! If you really try to boot the car it doesn’t pick up and the engine light will illuminate then once it’s picked up the light goes out! Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Hi unfortunately I only have access to vcds software from my Audi. This shows me very little but says emotions related fault code but that’s all. Not much help I’m afraid.

Had it plugged into a computer today which showed p1260 delivery fuel pressure monitoring, po100 air mass sensor and p0110 intake air temperature sensor
Any suggestions?

The P0100 and P0110 are MAF related, so is it actually plugged in?

P1260 could be the rail sensor or its wiring, which can give issues.

Yes the maf is connected we did disconnect and ran it for a day without to see if helped, which it did but not fully. It’s now connected back again. Where is the rail sensor located?

Where is the rail sensor located?

.pdf download here :

see pages .. 13 / 21 / 22.

sensor is at the end of the fuel rail, make sure wiring contacts are clean and free of corrosion .
[ voltage there is very low .. even a bit of grime will cause issues,
[ plus the original harness and plug had water ingress issues.
[ there is an updated part available.
[ using contralube-770 on the plug pins helps.
