When driving my discovery (which is a 2002 manual TD5) sometimes when you come off the throttle and dip the clutch the revs keep climing (even though the accelarator has been released, it's usually just by around 1000rpm but still very annoying, does anyone know what could be wrong and how to cure this?

Also is it normal for the centrifugal oil filter to go on whurring after the engine is switched off?

Thanks,

Sounds like a trip to the diagnostic machine may be in order with the throttle but I've heard the whirring noise after engine shutdown and thought it was the turbo . It's a whirr not a whistle can anyone confirm.

You definately need a diagnostic to find the accelorater fault.

YES that noise is centrifugal oil filter and it is normal for it to wind down after switching off.

i tryed running my disco withe the clutch switch disconected and got this problem try looking to see if yours is conected it in the top left corner of the engine bay follow the clutch pipes
