Today I spent an inordinate amount of time doing something really stoopid.
Over the years I have had a GB sticker on the back of the Disco. Then the law changed and it had to be UK, so stuck one on top of the GB one.
Then I was told it was too small, (which may not have been true) so I bought another and, yep, stuck it over the last one.
Since then over a few years, weirdly, the middle one can be seen through the last one, so it is like seeing double.
So I decided to remove all of them. Which proved to be very nearly impossible. I managed to remove the top two but they were all very stuck on round the edges. The bottom one would not budge. I tried turps, meths, acetone, brake cleaner, WD40, and a few other things. But nothing seemed to shift it.
So I had to simply cut away at it with a long box-cutter blade, indulging in a sort of sawing motion behind any edge that I managed to lift. This did seem to be slightly helped by use of a mix of meths and turps, but only very slightly.
Took flipping forever, it all coming off in mostly tiny bits, and there was still a residue left on the paintwork, which wouldn't shift even with all of the above solvents.
So I came in for some lunch. Went back to it, got it all off eventually (T-cut) so decided to go into town to by a new sticker and do a couple of bits. Then between us we managed to remember that I had been so intent on this that I had forgotten to go for my shingles jab.

So went into town. Despite there being NO patients waiting, no I couldn't have my jab, (I was an hour late), next available appt, end of April, So flip that.

Got the forms etc to renew the licence. PO lady couldn't tell me why they couldn't do it on line, have yet to try that route again.
Got a new UK sticker and had a lovely chat with a bloke who, after waiting for about 20 years, has finally got his hands on a 1959 80" tratter he has known. He showed me his pics. He got it, ran it a bit, took it to a show, then somewhere along the line it blew a core plug and the engine cooked itself. He knew he was going to be doing huge amounts of work on it, but this was a tad unexpected! So he was looking forward to getting the engine back very soon. (He was in Motabitz buying ancillary stuff.)
This time I remembered the petroleum jelly trick before sticking the new "UK" on.

In no time at all my thread on Openreach, which I obviously had to put on AG, degenerated into the usual poop. I do wish there was a way that members could remove a thread that they have put up.
Hey ho!
Sleep tite folks!!
