Had another meeting today with HR
They are grateful that I've let them know in advance that I'm thinking of leaving rather than just turning up to work one day and quitting, this way they now have a chance to find a suitable replacement rather than rushing in to a decision and just accepting the first good applicant.
They also understand that a 3 month notice period will make it difficult for me to leave so have offered to amend my employment contract in such a way that I have now effectively handed my notice in and once the obligatory 3 month notice period is up that I'll be on a rolling 1 month contract making it easier (hopefully) for me to find new employment. I thought this was a nice gesture.

Well family arived.
It didn't rain at all!
They had dinner and halfway through grandson has to go on a zoom type thing with his Français tutor and son has to go on another with his Anglais student! the wonders of modern pooterism!
But all good fun!
Had an enjoyable time teaching grandkids the intricacies of the three card trick and then beating them hollow at 3-4-5 until finally grandson got it, well at least a bit, and took one hand off me!
