Good day gents,

I have bought a 90 with a 200tdi conversion, it has recently had a cambelt change. whilst checking the underbelly i have noticed that there appears to be a bolt/plug missing from the bottom of the cambelt housing. Does anone know a part number or alternatively does anyone know the thread size and depth of this plug.

Thanks Lee

If it's underneath it's the wading plug hole for a........ummm.....wading plug. To be used when........errrrrr......wading

Available on fleabay fer a few pennies.

Oh an ya int supposed to leave 'em in perminantly

Not just for wading IMO, also stops dust/dirt ingress. The crank shaft exists the timing case through a dust seal so it seems silly to leave a gaping hole open just underneath it.

I leave them in all the time and take them out every now and again to check no leaks.

they are supposed to be out and fitted when needed , you dont find dirt entering there in normal driving

I do leave mine in but I know I shouldn't, I do check mine every month or so when I bring it into work and so far not a drop from either, still its not a good idea as if it starts to leak it will soon knacker the cambelt and then your engines gone...

If yer front seal goes yer case will fill up fast but tis your cambelt so up to you

Very true but mine is a laner only, doesn't get used otherwise so I leave it in, usually for at the end of each laning day to clean off underneath. Like I say I check mine every month or so anyway but I do understand the risks, if it was a daily then it would be out....

Thanks very much folks. as you can guess i am totally new to this great to get some advice. much appreciated!
