reet, ah stripped me gear stick down tonight, the ball end rattles round waaaay too much to select gears and ocasionaly pops out,
so what i have done is got a high tensile nut 19mm that fits on the end
then checked how it fits in the housing on the selectors,
put it on a shaft in the lathe and nipped it up with another 19mm nut to hold it tight on the studd,
then machined it down to fit 1mm under sized in the ball housing ,
check the fit
release the locking nut to remove the " new roller "
then gas welded it on to the end, am sure this will last longer that that plastic thing it used to have, then pack it with grease .
iif yer int got a lathe am sure it could be done on a bench grinder
