Transfer box front output bearing and oil seal renewal.
Heres how ah did it
First ah drained the oil
Found some wee metal bits on the drain plug (ah think this is quite normal) .
While the oil was drainin ah removed the propshaft from the output flange and moved it out of the way
and refitted the drain plug
This is what ye should see when the prop is off
Ah stuck on me home made tool to stop the flange from turnin and used a wreckin bar to crack the big nut before taking it off with a normal sized ratchet
and removed the flange along with the washer and felt washer to find this
gave it a clean up to see what was what and to stop any crap getting inside before removin the oil seal
once the oil seal was out ah found a big circlip holding the bearing in and removed it .
when the circlip was out a stuck a sliding hammer on the shaft to chap it out along with the bearing
Just a couple of photies to show where the shaft fits
This is what the shaft looks like when its out
Ah took the bearing off (along with the metal bush)
Checked over the shaft to see if everything was okay and stuck it back in the t-box
Packed the bearing with plenty of grease and stuck it in
and then the circlip and oil seal
Took the big washer and felt washer out of the flange
gave the flange a clean up and stuck it back on
stuck a new felt washer on before sticking the big washer back on
then ah used me tool again to hold the flange and torqued up the big nyloc nut
before bolting the prop back on
Finally it was a case of filling up the t-box
Thats it, job done
