    When I do a winch pull no-one is near it, & if it does snap there is a safety rope attached so it only goes about 30 feet. :) Its a 1000T rated winch so I dont take chances.

    Boy that seems high. I thort the one on my disco 2 at £415 was a bit steep, but it does cover us for as long as we want to be abroad and also recovery all year round again, no matter the country. Ours too is limited to 5k.

    Genuine door seals and good door alignment helps. That defender draught right on the hip and kidney is horrible. My 300tdi disco is fine after first couple miles 😉

    That’s helpful mate. Don’t worry the doom is well realised. The engine is completely seized. It’s coming out this weekend and I’ll probably rebuild it completely. Might leave the cam shaft alone as I’m not set up to reem new bearings.

    Sounds like you can get power. Elimination! Try simplifying it. Try fuel can direct to pump. Need to ensure fuel is there. Can be blocked fuel pipes or somehow lift pump not working. Check battery terminal clamps are really tight on battery...
