There are so many people now replicating G4 defenders. I think they look shoddy and cheap, either buy the real thing or dont bother. that D3 would be the one G4 i would buy
So this local guy may jus have bought it, with the G4 accs on it already?

Well maybe. When the vehicles go for auction they are sometimes stripped or left with all the kit on. The ones with all the kit fetch far more as sourcing original stuff is very difficult.
If he has the info on what kit was used on that vehicle on that year as it changed frequently. Or he may just have it sprayed Tangiers orange, fitted a load of Mantec kit, Goodyear Wrangler MT's, Warn spot lights and a warn 9k winch. which seems to be most common.
Next time he passes note his reg plate and google it. You may be able to find the vehicle history if it was an actual G4 vehicle. The G4 owners club have a database on all the vehicles release dates, where they were taken on what dates and what they were used for prior to being sold off.
