What should the battery drain be?

I've just done a battery drain test with my multimeter with all off I'm reading about 0.08 amps ( 80 milliamps I guess) seems a bit high to me but does anyone know what it really should be?

It's 30ma on the P38, I would expect the L322 to be around the same figure. the L322 takes a very long time to shut down to sleep mode. I think eightinavee is the man that knows:)

I tested it 30 mins after locking it, as far as I'm aware it's all off after 16 mins. At that sort of drain how long would it take to go flat?

I see, it's not even lasting a week but as they also wake up every 6 hours and do there thing (which I understand can draw 0.5 amps for 16 mins ) then that would be about right? I'm thinking bout getting a solar panel. Anyone got one fitted ?

Better to find out what is causing the excessive drain first, I use a 12 watt solar panel when I have to leave the P38 for an extended period, 5 watt would do the job.

Ok, I leave mine for 4 days every week as I work away from home, are they ok plugged into to cigar lighter? Or best connected to the battery? Knowing how tempremental the l322s electronics are?

Direct to the battery, on mine the cig lighter is not live with the ignition off. I've actually fitted a live socket in the boot so I can leave the solar panel on the rear parcel shelf.

It is 20-30mA as said, and around 16mins to go to sleep.During that 16mins there are some hefty spikes as various ecu's wake up then shut down.I stood and watched one once for the whole time via a current clamp feeding a scope.
The battery and charging system are pretty much at their limit even when in good nick....
Dont even think of fitting a cheap battery.

Cheers , any tips on fining the culprit ? I guess it's difficult to start testing each fuse without waking the the bcm up

Have you had any luck finding the cause of your battery drain yet? I'm currently looking into the cause of mine. I have unplugged all of the above and I'm still getting a flat battery!

I'm just waiting for a fuse amp tester thing but as you say that may not work due to the Ecu's waking up!
