urgent help needed

right then folks i found out from removing the ht leads one at a time that there is no spark being created by one of them so the engine is only running on 7 cylinders.
any ideas what this couild be caused by such as possibly the dizzy cap etc (if it has one, cos i cant see one anywhere).
this is urgent folks my baby aint well and i dont like it if the engine goes im gonna be devastated, any advice ????????

replace the ht cable in the first instance and then you can rule that out/in....

nothing to do with ht lead as there is no spark coming from a long metal stripe that it plugs in to, theres no spark from there. any other suggestions????

Have a close look at the coil tops where all the plug leads push into,careful not to mix them up.Is the one that does not spark burnt ? The 4 double ended coils are all the same,so it is possible to swap an individual coil.It is most likely that one coil has failed.They sometimes melt and spew plastic out the side or swell up.They arent too easy to see,so a torch and mirror are best.

Hate to be the voice of reason. but if you were looking at a coil pack failure then wouldn't you have 2 cylinders on opposite banks not firing?
