N/s turbo bottom hose failing (boost pipe) and making a noise. Local dealer says body needs to come off to replace =£1000. pipe=less than£50. Doesn't make sense to me. Can this be done with body on, i am mechanically minded. Any help would be appreciated. Rrs 3.6 tdv8 2007 L320

For £1000 I’d try remove anything to get to it myself first.

Example - @Dopey was quoted £400 in garage time to lift his RR up, remove shaft, service UJ, refit with new bolts and realign ; which is fair enough.
I clambered underneath and changed mine in situ for £14. Worth every grazed knuckle.

I think it cost £120 in the end (I supplied the part) uses a local guy

On the Sport, it is very difficult to get to the turbos and pipes with the body on....that being said, the other option is to support the engine on a brace (the type that sits on the wings) and then drop the front subframe down....still quite a bit of work, but much less than removing the body.
Oooh, nice job.. Still better than lifting the body and faffing with all the liquids... I'd go for the subframe drop. It'll give access to a lot of bushings and ball joints as well for inspection.
