Transmition failsafe prog, when cold, l322 Td6 (2002)

Question?

I have an l322 Td6 (2002), When cold/just started, under medium to heavy acceleration it will drop into Transmission failsafe prog, all I do is turn it off lock it and unlock it and start it again and it won't do it anymore until it's cold again.

A very annoying problem.

Any ideas?
Are we looking at low transmission fluid not able to work under low temps?
or a sensor that is not working correctly going the car the wrong readings?
or something like that?

The TDV6 isn't fitted to an 2002 L322

It's been a long day. It's a TD6.

First thing would be to check oil level - the Td6 does like to lunch gearboxes, so start with checking the fluid level, also, a fluid and filter change wouldn't go a miss in anycase.

Get it on diagnostics and see what faults are stored, as this may point you in a direction.
