Track rod ends

Need a short one for MOT next week.

Island 4x4 do Britpart, Delphi and Lemforder in ascending price.

Are Lemforder particularly good or are they all a bit rubbish?

Delphi stuff is good and OE quality. Lemforder are good and OEM. You have been lucky with that it's usually the fixed one on the N/S that goes.

Lemforder it is then. There's only £4 difference. I think I had the long one done a few years back but it might have been the drag link - or both.

Replace the whole track rod, the other end will be on it's way as it usually fails first on mine. I went for Lemforder, the joints are more substantial than the ones on the rod I removed of unknown parentage which only lasted about 20K miles.

I should have done but time is limited to re-order.

How do you know that your old ones only lasted 20K miles?

Because I fitted the last track rod 20K miles ago. It was brand new and came with the car when I bought it, the owner had purchased it in error when he needed a drag link

I never use Microcat, I look the part up on Island 4 x 4.
